WEEKLY REPORT- 1
Our first phase of teaching
practice started on 15th December 2021, Wednesday. We, a team of seventeen
members, got N.S.S. Boys Higher Secondary School, Pandalam for teaching
practice. We reached the school at 9.30 a.m. We were told that we must
reach the school by 9.45am. On 9th December, we went to the school for
collecting our portions, timetable and for meeting our respective teachers.
Therefore, we were fully aware of what to teach and when to go to the class and
to which class. On the first day, we met the Headmistress of the school and
signed our attendance register. The school is strictly following the COVID
protocol, SMS is maintained throughout the working hours. The headmistress gave
us certain instructions and arranged a room with enough seating arrangements
for us. We were provided a small room
adjacent staffroom. Most of the days I had exam duties. Students were excited
to see the new teachers. The total strength of 8th standard is large and thus
it is divided into 5 batches- 8A, 8A1, 8B, 8B1, 8C. On 15/12/2021, I went to 8 B during the
second period. But I couldn’t complete my lesson plan, since they were having
model exams after 20 minutes of my class. After that I got one more hour there, and therefore I completed 2 lesson plans. During these 8 working days, I got
only 6 classes- 15/12/2021_ 8B, 17/12/2021- 8C, 20/12/2021- 8C, 22/12/2021- 8B. And thus, I could only complete 2 lessons in total, "The Song of the Flower" and "First Showers". I also observed the classes of my colleagues during the free hours. During the examination, the teachers asked us to do the exam duty. I also conducted sociometry in the class so as to find out the star in class 8 B. The students cooperated well. The principal and teachers are cooperative. During the lunch interval, or when we are having no classes, we went to the college, to get our Records signed by the optional teacher. We spend our free hours
writing records and preparing teaching aids- chart, ppt…
